The Japanese Spider Crab also has an open circulatory system which means there are no veins or capillaries. But crabs have an extensive network arteries. The blood oxygenizes when water runs over the gills and the gills absorb the oxygen for the water and then enter the blood stream. The heart then pumps the blood around the body for the cells to receive oxygen for the cells to carry out cellular respiration.
