Corals are part of the phylum Cnidaria, they live in colonies in the ocean. There are about 70,000 different species of coral and they are mostly found in tropical oceans. Coral are prey for other animals in the ocean like starfish and marine slugs. Coral does not have a cardiovascular system because they live in the ocean so they are surrounded by water which contains the necessary oxygen and nutrients they need for their survival.
